BATON ROUGE REFINERY

BATON ROUGE REFINERY

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Sector(s): Oil & Gas, Industrial & Manufacturing
Client/Agency: EXXONMOBIL

Brightcon Services: Dynamic Vibration Monitoring, Advanced Analytics, Asset Integrity Assessment

Brightcon was engaged by ExxonMobil to perform dynamic vibration monitoring at its Baton Rouge refinery, one of the largest and most complex refining facilities in the United States. The goal of this effort was to assess impact of operational vibrations on sensitive adjacent structures critical to the refinery’s ongoing operations. Our team deployed a network of high-precision vibration sensors capable of capturing real-time dynamic response across multiple frequency ranges. Advanced analytics allowed us to determine the vibration levels due to refinery activity.

NEPONSIT HOSPITAL

Location: Neponsit, NYSector(s): Real Estate & Development, Environmental

Brightcon Services: Vibration & Noise Monitoring, Structural Monitoring, Compliance Reporting

For the demolition of the Neponsit Hospital, Brightcon was entrusted with protecting the surrounding community and infrastructure through a comprehensive instrumentation and monitoring program. Recognizing the challenges of vibration, noise, air quality, and structural impacts inherent in demolition work, our team engineered a tailored monitoring system that ensured safety, compliance, and transparency throughout the project. Brightcon deployed advanced movement, vibration, air, and noise monitoring instruments with automated real-time data acquisition and threshold-based alerts. This system provided immediate insight into potential exceedances, giving project stakeholders the ability to respond quickly and effectively. Our team supplemented automated systems with expert analysis and clear reporting, translating raw data into actionable guidance for the contractor and owner.

WARDS ISLAND WASTE WATER TREATMENT FACILITY

Location: New York City, NY

Sector(s): Water & Environment, Infrastructure

Brightcon Services: Geotechnical & Structural Monitoring, Automated Data Acquisition, Risk Mitigation

Brightcon was selected to provide instrumentation and monitoring services for the upgrade of the Wards Island Waste Water Treatment Facility, one of New York City’s largest and most complex water infrastructure assets. With construction activities occurring in close proximity to critical process structures and active utilities, precision monitoring was essential to safeguard operations and minimize risk. Our team designed and implemented a comprehensive monitoring program that combined geotechnical and structural instrumentation with automated data acquisition and real-time alerting. Monitoring elements included settlement, tilt, vibration, and groundwater response, all strategically deployed to track the impact of construction activities on sensitive structures and systems.

Washington DC | North East Boundary and Anacostia River Tunnels

The Project is a massive infrastructure tunneling program designed to capture wastewater during rainfalls before it ever reaches rivers. We installed several thousand sensors to make sure to ensure everybody is safe when the 26' diameter tunnel is being dug almost one hundred feet below the ground. We reported the collected data in real time so everybody involved can see the results of our work.

Brightcon provided construction of new LEED Silver Certified garage facility in Brooklyn Community District 3 Garage

Brooklyn NY | Brooklyn Community District 3 Garage

This project involves the construction of a new LEED® Silver Certified garage facility, comprising one level of vehicle storage and repair facilities, with three levels of personnel support facilities and a below grade parking serving Brooklyn Sanitation District Brooklyn 3. We monitored the surrounding properties for vibration and movement induced by the construction activities.

Atlantic City NJ |Rehabilitation of Waterline

New Jersey’s Department of Transportation plans to build a service road near a major waterline passing through a swamp to easily access the waterline for maintenance. When building a road in a swamp land, the structures around the new road (such as the existing pipeline) can move. We installed instruments on the waterline and the soil around it so the Department can monitor the movement of the pipe when the road is built.

New York NY | Second Ave Subway

New Yorkers have been waiting for the 2nd Avenue Subway line for several decades. When mining under Manhattan, you have to keep in mind that you are in the middle of one of the most expensive real estate zones in the world. You need to ensure that the foundation of buildings and structures are sitting on strong enough soil so the mining operations does not undermine the foundation of impacted structures. We designed a soil improvement program to inject “glue” into the soil to keep the soil particles together.
